HeyBoOn your device
Your voice. HeyBo listens through the microphone only while you're capturing a note, or while you've switched on the HeyBo+ “Hey, Bo” wake word. Speech is turned into text by Apple's speech recognition. Where your iPhone supports it, this happens entirely on the device; otherwise Apple processes the audio under Apple's Privacy Policy. HeyBo never stores or uploads recordings.
Your notes, tasks, shopping list, name, email address and settings are stored on your iPhone. Deleting the app deletes them.
The free version of HeyBo builds your brief on the device, and sends nothing to us.
What leaves your device, and why
Only if you subscribe to HeyBo+ and tap “Continue” on the screen that explains what’s shared. You're asked before anything is sent, and you can turn it off at any time in HeyBo › Settings › AI briefs.
AI morning brief
The text of your notes from the past week — with the time each was captured and whether it's done — is sent to our server and on to Anthropic, whose Claude model writes your brief. Our server passes it through and doesn't keep it.
Brief by email
Only if you also switch on “Email it to me automatically”. Our server keeps your email address, first name, chosen brief time, time zone, and the text of your notes from the past week plus tasks still open from the past 30 days, so it can write and send your brief each morning. Emails are delivered by Resend.
A random identifier
The app creates a random ID so the server can tell your brief and schedule apart from others, and to stop abuse. It isn't linked to your Apple Account and isn't used for advertising.
Who processes it
These companies process data on our behalf, only to provide HeyBo's features:

Under Anthropic's commercial terms, data sent through its API is not used to train its models; Anthropic may keep it for a limited time for safety and abuse monitoring. See Anthropic's Privacy Policy.
We don't sell your data, share it for advertising, track you across apps or websites, or use analytics or advertising tools — in the app or on this website. We set no cookies here.

Security
Everything sent between the app, our server and our providers travels over encrypted HTTPS connections. Our server only accepts requests from the HeyBo app, and limits how often it can be used, to prevent abuse.
Your choices and rights
- Stop sharing — turn off AI briefs or brief emails in HeyBo › Settings. This stops sending notes and deletes the server's copy of your email schedule.
- Delete — delete individual notes in the app, or delete the app to remove everything on your iPhone.
- Ask us — write to support@heyboapp.com to find out what we hold, or to have it corrected or deleted. We reply within 30 days.
Depending on where you live (for example, the EU, UK or California), you may have further rights, such as to object to processing or to complain to your data protection authority. We'll help with any of them.
Children
HeyBo isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their data.
Changes and contact
If this policy changes, we'll update the date at the top. If a change is significant, we'll tell you in the app before it applies.
